Key Resources
In addition to rich natural resources (including a diversity of tidepool organisms that live here), the area also is home to a historic, cultural resource as well. In 1910, a ship (the J. Marhoffer) was sunk by an explosion and you can see the old boiler (the bay's namesake) at low tide. |

What can you do here?
Typical activities at Boiler bay include Scientific research, educational activities, sport fishing from shore, and tidepooling. Boiler Bay is designated a research reserve, therefore, collection of intertidal shellfish and invertebrates is limited (see current ODFW fishing regulations for a list of species and exact boundaries), except by scientific permit. |
