Abstract:
This shapefile represents the tax parcel layer encompassing the the ocean front parcels along the north end of the littoral cell in Coos County.

Purpose: The purpose of this layer is to represent the tax assessors parcels and provide a means to assess hazards as they relate to ocean front development.
Supplemental Information:
The parcel layer contains three seperate pieces of information. The first is the linework acquired in a CAD format from the Dyre Partnership, an engineering group on contract with the City of Bandon. The second piece of information includes the linking attribute which in this case consists of the Section, Township, Range, Quarter Section, and Tax Lot number. The third and final piece of information is the Farm Team database acquired from Ken Gregg under contract with the City of Bandon. This information is obtained from the Coos and Curry County Assessors office.

Process Description:
The linework was created by downloading the .tiff images from the Oregon Department of Revenue website. These .tiff
images were then registered by Randy Dana- GIS specialist
for the Oregon Coastal Management Program into Oregon
Lambert coordinates. The linework was then heads up
digitized over the registered maps, using the ArcINFO
software. The file
was then converted back into a shapefile and brought into
ArcView where each polygon was checked for consistency with
the paper maps, and attributed with the Section ,Township,
Range, Quarter Section, and Tax Lot number to create the
linking attribute. Finally this was attributed with the
updated 12-1-01 Farm Team database to create the existing shapefile.
