About the Road's End Headland Rocky Shore Area

The Road’s End headland is located immediately south of Cascade Head, approximately one mile north of Lincoln City, in Lincoln County, Oregon. |

The rocky shore areas are part of Oregon’s Ocean Shore Recreation Area. |

Relatively inaccessible intertidal habitat and several small seabird colonies on the cliffs and associated in the area. |

What can you do here?
Although use is relatively low within most of the area due to difficult access, primary uses include hiking, bird watching, beachcombing, and agate hunting with some tidepooling in areas accessible at low tide. |
Getting to the Rocky shore at Road's End Headland
Public access is available at the Road’s End State Recreation Site, approximately one mile north of Lincoln City. A short trail from the small parking area provides relatively easy access to the beach; from there it is a ¾ mile walk down the beach to the beginning of the rocky shore area.

Who Owns this Site? Submerged and intertidal lands: Division of State Lands; beach: Oregon Parks and Recreation Department; offshore rocks above MHW: the US Fish and Wildlife Service; some upland is private and Oregon Parks and Recreation Department owns the upland property that makes up the Road’s End State Recreation Site. |

Who Manages this Site?
Oregon Parks and Recreation Department manages Road’s End State Recreation Site (SRS) for general recreational uses. Road’s End SRS is part of OPRD Area 1 and the Beverley Beach Management Unit. Beach and intertidal areas are managed by the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department as part of the ocean shore |
